Tears of innocence

Image
"Tears of innocence" Crying baby portrays the abandonment of orphans when their parents leave them and the helplessness they feel because however much they want to convey their feelings through words it comes out as tears instead When I worked with crying baby it portrays the abandonment of a child by his mother when she goes to work leaving him at home and he thinks she abandoned  him and starts crying for her. It shows the pure pain of the child who is so innocent to the world and does not know the deceit. It signifies the purity of human emotions and the corruption which makes them tarnished. I worked in an orphanage for some time which took abandoned kids in and provided shelter for them. working there, I saw the children everyday who waited for someone some adult to adopt them and give them a family. The helplessness in their eyes pained me so much.  I made this painting thinking about the childhood they would lead if they are not adopted. The art also sheds l...

"Moon"

Image
"In Moon's embrace" I made this painting looking into a starry night one day and just the moon made me so obsessed with it that I could not stop myself from picking up the brush and drawing it. The moon symbolizes a lot of things in cultural and religious things. For example, in Greek mythology, the moon was associated with the  goddess Artemis. Many cultural festivals are based on lunar calendars such as Ramadan in Islam and certain Hindu festivals like Diwali and Karva Chauth. The moon's phases often hold symbolic meanings in various cultures, representing cycles of life, death, and rebirth. If I talk about the symbolic purposes then the moon symbolizes femininity, intuition.  There is a saying in Japanese which translates to "The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" which means I love you. moon watching with your loved ones is a form of peace which makes everything calm around. moon has different phases and that's how I percept life to be; in different p...

History of Arabic Calligraphy

Image
Arabic calligraphy has a rich history which was started in the era of Islamic tradition. Arabic tribes have historically favored verbally transmitting poetry and texts from generation to generation through memorization. But as Islam spread and the significance of keeping the Quran in written form increased, that began to change.  A number of early semitic languages were spoken on the Arabian Peninsula prior to the spread of Islam, and the finding of calligraphic artifacts in these languages indicates that calligraphy was practiced there before Islam. Cuneiform calligraphy, for example, was used as early as 600–500 B.C. to adorn king monuments in ancient Persia. Nevertheless, because of how Islam united the region under the Arabic language and because of its reverence for the written word, it was unquestionably the spread of Islam that brought about a great age of calligraphy throughout the ancient Middle East. "The golden age of calligraphy" The earlier development of Arabi...
